Comment: Neon hue between pink and red with exceptional brilliancy. Though Sri Lanka is famous for sapphires, rubies are surprisingly hard to find (literally if you are miner). We are always looking out for those rarities and have, over ten years, seen perhaps two dozen Ceylon rubies. Here is a good size wild ruby with no visible inclusions. Camera splits off violet sparks. Local hand cut (if you like a precision re-cut: we cover the cut). Flashy unheated Ceylon ruby with no window, flat girdle, no belly. Never, ever pale, or dull or dark. (This photo was shot on a rainy day because at the slightest idea of direct sunlight the camera turns the gem into a shining red light blotch, which is sign of good ruby - even the most terrible rubies shines for the camera in sunlight)
