Comment: This emerald shape has a distinct silvery sheen caused by very fine needles sitting in perfect parallel order throughout the stone. See the side-image where they separate in green and yellow and purple sections. One of the biggest stones of 2011 (Montanas are mostly under one carat). Good value in untreated USA sapphire. Minimalistic character, unassuming and serenely understated. Best in a white gold bezel ring, or platinum if you want to add some salt.
