Overall Grade: Very Good
Comment: Marking the border between pink sapphire and ruby, the color of this sapphire (as such it is certified and priced) reminds of a fresh poppy flower. Typical for fine Burmese corundum is also the fine silky sheen that roots in microscopic needles (which would dissolve under heat). We did already re-cut the rather unsymmetrical local shape, coming down from 1.8 carat, and feel that, as it is now, we have captured its terrific color and bringing out enough luster, without sacrificing too much size (and value). Great deal for the natural color enthusiast.
