Comment: Here is a rarity: Color change sapphire showing green at day and purple at night (Alexandrite-type). A square 6.5 carat unheated sapphire in itself is not easily found these days, but this type of color change is a 1-in-100 find as well. It could be precision cut and stay over 5 or even 6 carats but it is good as it is. Take a close look at our photo selection and ignore the AIGS images (they are extremes that the camera can produce but the eye is more complex). This sapphire is deep jungle to marine green at day and flashes with purple when prompted by tungsten light. Isolated from all day-light and set into candle-light it will be reddish purple with a green tingle (see candle-only shot). We are proud to have this sapphire in our collection. There has been nothing remotely similar in the market and there won't be as time soon. At 4.5k/ct not expensive for a world class collector gem. Be warned though: Such a gem is no fast-food. As every high-class gem it needs time to grow and in exchange it offers a lifetime of pleasure; meaning that years into ownership you will still discover new colors in new light-settings and it will surprise with sparkles when other gems have gone dead boring (that in fact is the very essence of a good gem). Heirloom sapphire with inbuilt value retainer. Full brilliancy, minuscule inclusions hardly visible even under the lens, no window. Giant.
