From the David Jerome Collection:
Untreated 19.76ct Brazilian Morganite

Deep Peach/Salmon

Details:

The Setting: Edwardian Morganite Pendant with Diamond-Net

- 18K White Gold with UK Hallmark
- 50mmx35mm Visual Top Dimension

- 114 conflict-free diamonds in VS (or better) and color G (or better) and ideal-cut
- Total diamonds: 3.89 carat

- 17.06 grams (incl. gems)
- Ball with filligree diamond design
- Four short round prongs plus one V-shaped prong hold morganite

- Open Network of diamonds
- Finest UK goldsmith's craft in all details (see close-ups)

Comment: Pendant with an delicate airy net of diamonds, starting with one row at the ball and stepwise increasing to three rows at the belly. See the close up-shots and the fine details the goldsmith has worked into each and every part of the pendant, e.g. the four prongs holding the bigger gem in the ball, with a stand-up three-prong construction for the lower smaller diamond; or the way he, or she, added one row of diamonds every five millimeters but without any visible connection; there is one diamond in the row, then there are two and then three, but it is done so graceful that you can't really make out how the connection works (a bit like in one of these optical tricks). Almost 4 carats of finest conflict-free diamonds are the worthy companions to the extra fine center stone. In addition to four short stub prongs and one v-shaped top-prong, the morganite seems, at the same time, to be held in a bezel halo; one of David's signature designs. Though ethereal and delicate to the eye, you get solid 17 grams of gold and gems to leave to your descendants.

Comment: Deepest tone in peach/salmon hue that I personally have seen in untreated morganite, ever. Not that I have studied morganites as I have sapphires or rubies, but I have seen a hundred or so. This giant twenty carat pear shape from Brazil is free of inclusions even under the lens. It was precision cut with maximum brilliancy of 90%, an feat especially in a pear shape, no window obviously. In this perfection and size it deserved an extra '+' with the 'excellent'. Morganite, BTW, is pink beryl, as aquamarine is blue beryl, and emerald is green beryl.
