Comment: Cherry-red unheated ruby cabochon for a charming lady's ring or pendant. See the growth lines and crystal structure in our 36fold magnification images. Those, and the little orange patch, are visible only under the lens. The unaided eye perceives nothing but a fully saturated deep red with no brown, some pink, little purple and no grey. DSEF reported 'no heat' and 'transparent' with the latter qualification an honor but not reflected in our price (we call this semi-transparent). A little more clarity and this would have been cut into a facetted gem and be much more expensive. A rare opportunity to own an unheated ruby in fine color and full size. See 'more images.'
