Comment: The old-timer knows we prefer to publish new gems at the end of the month so that our newsletter actually has interesting novelties to present. Yet, some stones are too tasty to sit around unseen even for a few weeks. Such a gem is this 1.62 purple-pink unheated Ceylon Sapphire, with a color right from the lollypop dream of any elementary pupil, only lollypops don't sparkle. Slightly off-center cut but the 3*Nos are fulfilled: No window, no treatment, and no visible inclusion; unless YOUR eyes can detect the red dog which the close-up image shows below. I cannot find it, reading glasses on, even knowing where it is post-lens-inspection. 7x6mm will fill any lady's ring and its extreme color would make even a pendant a posh jewel. IGI attested Sri Lanka as origin, which is an honor for the gem, but also for the country because this gem can compare to any Burmese almost-ruby. From our years on/under the ground of the jungles in Ceylon, we know how rare such a color is and how much back-breaking work is required to unearth these gems. More than one catch of this quality per year would mark any of the local artisan mine as a lucky legend.
