Overall Grade: Very Good+

Comment: Once in a while a significant mine-run with naturally colored citrines comes to market, mostly from Brazil. Solitary specimens, from maroon to lemon, are found in Africa, or even in Sri Lanka (personally witnessed) but never in colors like these (also long gone). Thus, we are happy to present this row of golden yellow citrines, clean pieces with a brown undertone reducing the typically more aggressive yellow (as the name indicates). This gem was precision cut optimizing luster and face-up, of course without window. Though even casual gem buyer have discovered that the trade-off for an ideal precision-cut is a tilt-window (loss of color when the gem is tilted). As so often in the gem-trade, or perhaps always, there is no perfect balance point but rather the personal weighing of one preference against the other, culminating in the final battle between quality and price. Simplifying all this via "Grade AAA" without explanation will not do the trick for valuable products and the newly informed consumers. I hope our 'Overall Grade' with enough data, photos and this comment section may satisfy the curious and informed buyer. Check the close-up below showing the one vertical inclusion that my strained eyes cannot find with lens, though the young retina may perhaps catch it unaided. Obvious for all viewer is the relentless luster in any light and from every angle. Let us transfer this sparkling trillion in a daring ring or an ever-visible pendant.
