Overall Grade: Very Good

Comment: A rare blue spinel with no grey though not a Cobalt-Spinel (at least not chemically, even if it has the looks). For the unwary new-comer: Distinguish between 'Cobalt-Spinel' and 'cobalt-blue Spinel'. This 0.65 is cobalt-blue spinel, this is true Cobalt-Spinel. Either can be great or lousy, but as a rule, Cobalt-Spinels are more costly. Handshots show 'Medium Dark 80' best in relation to skin color; not a funny little sparkler but a dense hue between ultramarine and, well, cobalt blue. Vietnam has long been a prime source for blue spinels, both Cobalt or only cobalt-looks. Slightly rectangular, which could be used cleverly to sneak optical length into a setting. Precision princess- a.k.a. scissor-cut. As for its inclusions, note in the sideimages how luckily vertical they all sit to the table, rendering them pretty invisible from the front (lens only). Roughly 5x5mm will fill a slender ladies' ring up to size five, add a halo and we can make it a six or seven. Like Kashmir-blue sapphire this is not a fast-food gem but an ever more elusive treat for demanding individualist who'd rather adapt size to budget than to look through a sad window or make other compromises.
