Comment: Seriously sized rubellite with 15x10mm showing orange, purple, pink and red in different strengths depending on light setting and viewing angle. This is not true color zoning but strong pleochroism caught in the table. See side- and back-images for the center color, from which then other colors are separated by the optical effect unique so some gems (pleo gems). The luster shown in the handshots runs as a wave smoothly up and down the gem. Sometimes pleo gems are cut to hide the effect and present one color only (in sapphire for example), sometimes it is this the cutter wanted to bring out (in tanzanite for example). No window, no inclusions, no treatments. Flawless handcut. Not a stone for the average proportioned hand. Better in a truly unique pendant with 100% assurance you have a one of a kind and nobody will ever have seen anything like it. That said, this is not a tone or color-combo jumping into people's faces unsolicited but holds attention once noted.
