Comment: Octagon frame holding two halos with brilliant cut diamonds around an almost square center stone. Classic elements in David's repertoire (yet always one-of-a-kind): double corner prongs, the thinnest possible band with a heavy(-looking) head, designed upper shank, and the bezel-impressions from a prong-based construction. Other than in most of David's rings we here have NO pyramid halo, meaning the two rows of diamonds sit 'flat' next to one another. When the next chance arises, I will shot detailed shots of the cut-outs in the shoulders. Like others from this 'design-series' the ring appears 'heavy' but is in fact a light weight with comfortable 5 grams. Essence of Art Deco.

Comment: Though the IGI report does not give an origin, I dare name 'Burma' seeing the violet sheen and the color-zone in the back-image. That is typical Namya ruby. Origin aside, I like this type of ruby color best, a bright red with violet and pink. The photo in the IGI report is very close to color in person. The stone leaves a squarish impression on first sight. Traditional hand-cut, surely optimized to stay over the magic two carat hurdle in unheated ruby, but flawles and no window. Intense color, eye-catching, and always a rarity in unheated ruby. No visible inclusions, big face but no window, no heat and an acre of rainforest (now in Ecuador) rescued from the bulldozers. Additional report with origin, free of charge if the result is not 'Burma' and no obligation to buy of course. More photos and handshots on request or asap.
