Comment: Mix of yellow and white gold with simple and single halo around an oval giant emerald from Zambia. Take note, that we have a rectangular halo around an oval stone, leaving 'untidy' corners open with see-through spaces. This is not an oversight in the design but a classical trick to produce an 'antique' character. And, in fact, you would expect to see such a ring on the emperor's finger as he decides the gladiator's fate in a Hollywood movie. And it is an emperor's size, too. David's signature style: the gallery is build high up (and then some) and the gem elevated on-top so that we have the highest possible head and can marvel at the intense color from every side.

Comment: Almost ten carats of eye-clean 14x12mm emerald! A size Cleopatra would have admired; today it is an even more remarkable piece of high-quality untreated emerald. The bright but vivid green exhibits a silky sheen but only very few and minute inclusions. In its bright shiny green close to Colombian gems. 44% depth give the gem a Medium 50 tone but without any window what-so-ever. See under more images, how clean and transparent the body remains from different angles, while, at the same time, a softly glowing body shows off a liquid quality throughout the complete crystal. See also the close-up image with the silvery 'jardine' amidst the green body. Kingly, queenly, imperial, regal .... in any case a head turning gem with unlimited future value.
