Comment: Any Sandawana Emerald over one carat is considered exceptional, even half carats drew attention when the mines were still in action. This 1.05 roundish oval is of the pure neon green type, no yellow, no blue nothing but bright shining green, in Emerald-lingo also called 'open green'. Inclusions may be visible to the hawk eye, but in an emerald that is as good as IF in diamonds. The neon green, surrounded by a dozen of top quality diamonds, gives an overwhelmingly blinding first impression. You can visit many 5th avenue jewelers before you get to see such beauty (with $20k plus on the price-label). The slightly oval dimension of the emerald (7x6) gives the whole pendant the ideal roundish-oval face-optic. Though not huge it can be worn from petite to large because the colour and sparkle effects are so strong. Truth is, my wife, who is rather spoiled with jewelry, confiscated this piece under marital threats; with a vow to give it up the day it sells.
