Comment: Here is THE color. Magic deep Kashmir blue, a hypnotical outer-space experience. Premium AIGS report attests 'unheated' and 'Royal blue' (the latter, IMHO, being a bigger compliment that GRS's 'royal' or 'slaughtered-pigeon'). Traditional but flawless, local hand-cut, like most of the very best rough they do not leave the country uncut but get faceted locally (no CAD facetting in 'old' Burma) to up the value and leave more profit inside the country origin. A policy we support, and that most governments inforce, unfortunately with various degrees of good-sense. In the interest of all stakeholders the local trade must first make profits before they can get CAD machines (after internet connections). Our 3*NOS in the most sought-after sapphire-type of all, does not come cheap with 12.5k/ct. (except the mined-in-kashmir). Like anybody who wants to survive the year, we must price such gems at replacing cost, with values doubling almost every other year. AIGS could not determine origin and our word is just that. The current price includes the Burma-premium. If you'd like a 2nd lab-opinion (some gems' origins can't be determined due to clean crystals), we share the cost if the result is again inconclusive, if it's 'Burma' the fun is all on you, if it is 'Not-Burma', we'll pay for a 3rd test and/or drop the price by 40%. We can discuss details. As the images show, royal blue this is the densest, purest blue imaginable, a color found only in these legendary sapphires (softer kyanite, and a few other rarities aside). To add some merry sparkle in a ring etting, the classic choice is a halo, or two, of small diamonds. More innovative, bespoke designs, could include a pair of trillion glitter-gems, with or without color, ideally sized to match the dimensions of the center stone. If you don't care for glitter, just let us know and we take care of the details.
