Comment: If you share my appreciation for delicate hues in bright tones and finest crystals, you might understand why I had to add a double-plus on this spinel. It misses the 'excellent' for the usual grey undertone in most spinels, even though pure grey spinels are the latest rage. Hue and tone aside, look at this otherworldly crystal! It appears to be liquid or even a gas only it's condensed into one of the hardest materials in nature. Even if you don't know about Mohs scale, or switch off analytic brain-functions (for a moment, can you?), the contradiction of such a delicate transparency hidden in super-hard matter, sends an pulse of surprise and wonder through the non-analytic brain functions. Like any addictive substance this pleasant feeling can lead to financial and social disconnect from reality.
