Overall Grade: Good

Comment: Orange red star sapphire from Burma. Like a star padparadscha with a perfectly mild orange plus some deep pink = light red but certified as 'ruby'. The always visible silvery sheen comes from the needles that produces the star. Like SPA433 this gem was identified as coming from the triangle 'Burma, Thailand or Vietnam' but we dare claim Burma. Certified as 'star ruby' but priced as orange star sapphire and again discounted for a fissure that remains invisible to the eye and shows only under the magnifying camera plus torch. The fissure does not affect the gems durability (we guarantee any setting). IGI certified unheated. More about grading stars here: 'judging stars on photo'. Big round up-side with 7mm diameter but only 1.79 carats to pay for. No useless weight in the back but nicely flat and shallow (a compliment only in stars). Bargain for an all-natural certified Burma star with full Wild Fish privileges.
