Comment: Apricot colored Brazilian citrine in, even for this type of gem, mammoth size without the tiniest inclusion under the lens, a quality that decrease exponentially with size (same with color-zoning but only for citrine). The main attraction here is of course the hand carvings in the back which, combined with the more traditional checker-board front, produce a multitude of optical effects beyond the normal luster. It here seems as if (and actually that's the case) light is reflected from all sides, even the back, resulting in sparks and flickering light where we usually get only a single dimension of luster. With 30x20mm its dimensions are not easily overseen and limit jewelry design to pendants or bracelets. Speaking of size, 60 carats moves such a citrine's body character from a normal gemstone closer to that of a crystal or even a gem-sculpture considering the carvings. Economics teach that such a big gems' value, as much as the tiniest ones, cannot (or should not, unless you want to close shop soon) be calculated via $/carat but must carry overhead per item same as variable cost from IGI report to WLT purchase, NhRP support, shipping and yours humbly input. As often, oversized gems are more difficult to capture on photo than normal sized pieces, mainly because the camera-settings are optimized for five to ten millimeters. The secondary brown in this new untreated citrine gives it a mild hue, less green, less lemon than the usual citrine after heating. Get one while supply lasts.
