Overall Grade: Good+

Comment: Sunny blue sky sapphire. The main image relates its every-day hue and tone best. Local hand-cut, not as flawless as some, with a slightly asymmetric oval shape producing an askew tilt-window or even a hint of a window but not a K.O. flaw. Almost no inclusions under the lens, eye-clean. The sideview reveals a low profile, as always the trade-off between a big face-up and a shallow center -> under one carat but with the dimensions of a 1+carat. Though the lab in Chantaburi is not a world-player, we have used them several hundred times for a first quick heat-test and never had revoke the results by GIA or IGI. If you like a more 'reputable' lab-test for heat, it will take only extra time and $75. BTW, testing for heat vs. no-heat is the easiest part in this game. Only when the result is 'heated' are more complicated and costly procedures needed to rule out the legions of nasty treatments that can be slipped in with normal heat. Hence a solid NO-HEAT is the safest protection against all other fakes. A simple broad band with flush setting will hide flaws and strengthen the best space/sky blue. Thereafter, you'll own, or can present, a bespoke ring up to size 6/7, with/without halo and an unheated blue Ceylon sapphire - it doesn't get better - all on a moderate budget.
