Comment: Darkest of all imaginable blues. If you like your sapphire mystic deep blue but not the standard deep-fried blue, this is the right stone. Collector-quality color, not a fast-food experience but the slow discovery of the most famous color in the gem-world (next to pigeon blood and emerald green). Precision cut by Wieland in Germany. No window, no inclusions, no treatments. AIGS report with 'unheated blue' not yet 'dark blue' (such is the professional's view.) Color stone with reliable blue flashes from a dense crystal. Preferred but rarest shape in sapphire (cut mostly oval or in rectangular cushions due to lengthy rough shapes.) Almost 6mm round from just one carat, the result of finest cutting. Formerly a windowed oval 1.68 carat gem, now distilled to its flawless essence, without a weak colored center or see-through area in the middle (aka 'window'.) Good for rings up to size 6 in prongs, or 7/8 with a well deserving diamond halo. In such a classic setting the diamonds do the glitter, the sapphire the color.
