Comment: As long as we study this sapphire from face-up, which is the only important view for jewelry, there is only happy news: Richest sky blue, no inclusions even under the lens, symmetrical dimensions, and evenly saturated blue with little violet and less green. Almost good enough to make it into the 'excellent' category, but, alas, when seen from the side and in the back-view we have color-zoning, uneven saturation, and a slightly egg-shaped pavilion to report. Does all this matter? Not for jewelry, sort of, it is still an unheated, clean and rich blue sapphire over two carats with no visible flaws. The conclusion is obvious: If you are looking for an always blue, never dark, never pale, 100% clean, certified unheated sapphire for jewelry and do not worry about the underbelly details (visible only to the lens of an obsessive compulsive gemmologist) then there is a quick bargain to make: At $3.5k/ct straight into your beloved's ring and never mention color zoning or such, and an happy end is assured.
