Comment: Red spinel from Sri Lanka. Rich deep red, that is. Rare find in Ceylon spinel (at least these days). No visible inclusions under the lens (except a so called 'natural' on the under belly, which is per definition not an inclusion), the rest is 100% clean. Certified unheated. Can stand right beside a good Burma spinel but saves you a 100 fine dinners. Sparkly, yes, but also densely coloured, gleaming red never pink or flashy, never dark either (all shots were taken the last light of an mild autumn day). Solid local hand-cut without flaws, no window.
