Overall Grade: Good

Comment: Darker toned than many Ceylon stars and with a tint of violet. The star in person, as on our images, is not razor-sharp but well visible, and all legs show if not in equal length which is to be expected in an oval shape but also exaggerated by the off-centered camera position. This gem offers a richer tone and more color but demands strong light to show the star in its fullness (as in the off-center image) and is nearly always better than a camera (without the help of photoshop) can capture. Also documented under 'more images' is the transparent see-through body in bright sky blue (photos in mild but direct sunlight). High dome with no lost weight in the unpolished back of underbelly, except what is needed for a setting. First time buyers of stars often are surprised that the lower part of these cabochons is left unpolished, but this is normal, not a flaw, and intended to make the setting easier.
