Overall Grade: Very Good

Comment: Crisp and sparkly metallic blue-green sapphire from Tanzania with the often hard-to-show color-change from the Umba valley. Unique character, cold and hard, perhaps similar to polished steel. Tungsten light adds a secondary purple which, other than usual, does NOT warm or soften the day-color but simply adds sparks of color. Big face-up near 6x7mm from 1.36 carats. Absolutely clean and liquid crystal, no window, untreated. Bright green luster as visible in shot with a quarter of the gem under direct light. Fresh certificate at cost only. Always bright and sparkly, never dark as visible in handshot (also best mix-color). Flawless cut with lots of facets for fine rolling luster. Sapphire off the beaten path, individual gem for one-only jewelry, possible with prongs-only for daily wear. Classic shape for a Tiffany style ring in sizes between 4 and 6, or 7 with a bezel , which would not darken this gem.
