Overall Grade: Very Good

Comment: Star sapphire moving from a violet day-color to reddish purple at night, see below. The different torch-light strengthens the color change. Neutral color is best seen in the 'no-star' images. Zero weight-eating backside but deep enough to set the gem in a bezel which is considered the best for stars. Also, rings are preferred to pendants for stars, since one needs light falling in from above (the rarer body position in a pendant though not to be excluded). Translucent body with one inclusion not easily visible. The star moves smoothly and full. Other than many stars, there is little or no grey in this full hue. Ringsizes up to 6/7 but also down to 3.5. Not for halos IMO.
