Comment: Photogenic pastel colored sapphire in scissor- or princess-cut (the two are often considered the same, or there is no global standard naming for gem-cuts). Allow me to translate 'photogenic pastel colored' for those who are new: It means the gem does well for the camera (photogenic), it could be shown as neon pink, but in person is a more pastel, milder colored character. Such gems always pose a challenge: On the one side everybody wants to show his/her gems in their 'best light', but those who depend on returning customers cannot allow to fall for the temptation to show what is not there. Compare the main image with the shinier ones under 'more images' and the handshot. This is the unavoidable bandwidth a 'photogenic' gem produces even without digital gaming. Therefore, it is important not to ignore the 'pastel' as meaningless marketing flourish but understand it as product information. It tells you that this sapphire not a flashy bubble-gum pink or hot pink, but a mild, less intrusive gem type. Good glitter in good light, sought-after but rarely executed cut (because not weight optimized), obviously no window, IGI report with 'no heat' and 'Madagascar', and a lively colorshift between pink and purple. In fact, an older report attested this gem as color-changer but IGI didn't. In any case, both labs confirmed 'no-heat' which is the most important feature here while color is always relative (I will upload the old report when I find it). IGI classified it as pink sapphire with purple as strong secondary hue. Inclusions, as usual in Mada-sapphires, are visible only under the lens (eye-clean). If you prefer 'pastel' colors and enjoy permanently changing color combinations plus a perfect cut in unheated sapphire, you might stop searching. Good size for a lady's ring, perfect color(s) for an introverted jewelry-lover, and finally an ideal price-tag for the budget-conscious without compromises in quality.
