Comment: Fiery pinkish red in an affordable weight but big enough to serve a princess as a pendant. Perhaps the biggest one-carat in the world. How? Though weight is an important price-point, the more important quality of any gemstone (the other Cs aside) is its window-less face-up, the dimensions of a gem that are visible from the top but do NOT allow you to see through, in other words keep all light within the gem, bouncing rays back-and-forth, saturating them with color until they meet your eye. In the other, negative extreme, one carat could show, say, 20x20mm or more but its center would be so shallow that it'd resemble a piece of flat, lightly colored glass: no reflections, no luster, no life, and not worth a pint of beer (perhaps if untreated ruby). Such an extremely windowed piece would have value only for teaching purposes. Most, a 90% or perhaps 80%, of all precious gems on offer are burdened with such a window. Some could be rescued in a re-cut but if so, the owner would in most cases already have done so. This 1.03 carat, on the other hand, delivers lively luster in almost 9x5mm uninterrupted magic ruby red. THAT is priceless quality! The delicate length makes it worthy even of a pendant! A pendant-sized unheated ruby at just over one carat. Practically free of inclusions except a silky cloud in the tip which is only visible under the lens.
