Comment: Here is something off the beaten path: a pair of carved-to-match leaves made from untreated blue sapphire. Identical hues and tones (together called 'color'), only the faintest color zoning, no ugly inclusions. Over twenty carats of pure certified all-natural sapphire from affordable Madagascar material. Obviously, a pair designed for earrings. Let us worry about the technicalities of attaching them delicately but safely (we cover all risk of our goldsmiths' work). Cut or carved as thin as possible but still strong enough for abuse (truth be told, I dropped them, twice, without damage). Once they swing from your lobes, I assume, hope they won't suffer anything remotely violent. Regarding weight, don't worry, ten carats each counts for two grams per ear plus a bit of gold, all in all not more than a classic earring design with bezel and halo. For $30/ct with IGE report, free global shipping, WLT forest purchase, NhRP sponsorship, grading papers, and all good that comes with a WildFish parcel.
P.S. We could now make custom-order cameos on sapphire, not as delicate in design as with the usual softer gems, but in broader strokes, e.g. a portrait of a loved dog or such. Ask away. Very durable in comparison to carnelian or such.
