Comment: The overall impression to the un-aided eye is that of an evenly distributed medium dark blue sapphire; under the lens, however, this sapphire shows its strong pleochroism: darker from this direction, greener from that and more violet from another. For study purposes: Compare the two side shots under 'more images': one direction shows a greenish blue crown, the other a deep Kashmir blue. While this color-trick could be considered a natural marvel (as much as a color change), the trade considers it a flaw if visible to the unaided eye. Though this is here not the case, in the handshot we see an overall equal color saturation, the resulting marine blue is less expensive than other famous sapphire colors. That said, a ring-size unheated medium blue sapphire without inclusions, no window, AIGS cert, 1000sqm rainforest protection and free shipping for under $1k is always a good deal.
