Overall Grade: Good

Comment: Untreated blue sapphire with large face-up bought by a negligible window. Though not graded as color-changer (CC) it shows the typical variance of hues often found in Tanzanian sapphire. See additional image with bright violet-purple under tungsten light. Mixed light yields a cold sky blue with purple undertones. EMIL either missed the CC or found the change less than 50%, the cut-off point for CC. Anyhow, here is a 7x6mm sapphire in sky-blue for under $1k with CC thrown in as interesting side-show. Inclusions only under the lens. Medium 50 tone, never dark. Flawless hand-cut between cushion and oval. Sparkly crystal as visible in handshot. Ringsizes up to 7. Value buy for an unheated blue sapphire in this size and face-up of a two carat gem.
