Overall Grade: Good+

Comment: For a change, IGI did a better job getting this gem's character on photo. Unfortunately, they added a typo under comments where it should say "green zoisite are commonly NOT thermally enhanced" but they left the standard text unchanged which says "blue tanzanites are ....". Its uncommon hand-cut, at times called 'barrel', is just that, a deep long body with a flat almost non-existent crown, like a filled bath-tub, one of the old style, just filled wih color. The local work is not precise but allows a nice luster to run up-and-down the gem with only little movement. Less purple than in our images (except from the side). The handshot, and the IGI image, deliver the color combinations best. No window, no inclusions, no treatments. A bargain for a full-sized unheated tanzanite, leaving many options for unique jewelry designs.
