Comment: Untreated tanzanite with the classic petrol effect of purple, green and blue 'swimming' in a (here) pastel blue body (Light Medium 40). Obviously an unobtrusive character with a set of delicate hues. Tanzanites come with different base colors, purple or green, or violet. For a long time only uniformly colored deep blue tanzanites were used in jewelry, while this particular color has charme, heating makes them more brittle (valid for all gems, as any lapidary can tell). Bigger per carat than most gems due to low gravity. In the last decade many have discovered the natural beauty in these almost color-changing gems. This 1.74 comes without window, inclusions and treatment. A pleasing oval for ringsizes up to 7. Loves light to show the different colors but is never dark.
