Comment: Magic ever-moving mix of green, blue, violet and purple, all the best colors which natural zoisite exhibits before heating turns it to blue-only tanzanite. The gem was precision re-cut by Conny Forsberg from a sub-three carats gem with a focus on extra fine brilliancy. With success: When the gem, or the surrounding light-sources, move, even ever so lightly, so does its color-mix with green-blue-violet-purple rays sparkling undistinguishably. Few gems can display such a broad variety of hues and tones in one gem (not in one variety; that is a different topic). No inclusions under the lens, no window, unheated (or the green and purple would have disappeared). Conny was asked to remain over two carats hence the outer measures are not 100% symmetric, but a clever bezel (also better for protection) can produce more balance in a setting. Under the lens, playing with light and angles, eyes and hands give up before the brain has satisfied its color-lust. From various sky-blues, over fields of spring flowers, to rivers and lakes, every position and light setting brings new details into focus, from cold to warm, bright to dark. Check 'more images', just for fun, even if you are not in the market for tanzanite. A spectacle for the color fan.
