Comment: Surprising color and shade for a Thai sapphire plus an even more surprising color-change, or rather color-shift (according to our tight rules). These tightest grading rules say: a color changer must display a 'jump' on the color wheel, not only a move or 'shift'. Hence this is a color-shifter, though IGI reported it as color changer with origin. Cold metallic purple at day changes to a pastel pink-purple at night. Fine brilliant precision cut from the US of A. No visible inclusions when viewed from the front and under the lens, yet a fine needle structure is visible when viewed from the side (which does not count as inclusion in the grading of clarity, even not in our tight rules). Note how the right lower quarter of the gem seems either blue or black, but that is only because of an extreme sunny blue-sky day, either the blue found its way into the image, or we had to 'black it out'. In person, this gem has zero black-out and also no blue color zone. It's only a high summer photo in natural day light and we don't photoshop our images. No window, no heat, no inclusions. All in all, this is an understated but surprisingly sophisticated untreated sapphire, obviously not a showy gem but visible with good sparkle and clean crystal plus the sugar icing with colorchange/shift. Fully 3rd party certified, free shipping and a 1000 sqm of rainforest all for under 1k - beat that!
