Comment: Surprising tourmaline, with various shades of green from pale sea-foam to grass to mint hues. Pleochroism of tourmalines aside, the broad variety of greens is the result of a deep unconventional cut reaching to almost 100% depth, and an almost pyramid shaped backside. This depth and its steep flanks sent out not only different greens but also an extremely jumpy luster in which whole sections of the gem light all at once, without the usual transition. The gem's center then seems to move up- and down, left- and right while tone and hue change in blocks. Unusual gem for a high-set ring with space underneath to allow the light play its fullest effect. Needs special attention in design for jewelry. No inclusions, no window, no treatment.
