Overall Grade: Very Good

Comment: Classic tourmaline in all dimensions; color, shape, cut. No inclusions under the lens. As visible in all images the cut throws bands of lighter and deeper green throughout the stone, also a classic sight in tourmaline. BTW, this is not 'color-zoning' since the gem is colored evenly in the same tone and hue in every direction. The 'banding' is the intended effect of the simple but effective and precise cut. No window, no treatments, and a pleasing mint-ish green with blue-green interruptions (said 'bands') where hues and tones change abruptly. A good ring-gem where every movement will let the light play with different greens, from seafoam green, over blue-green and mint (as shown in two different hand-shots). All in Medium Dark 60, never pale, never dark, though the luster appears to jump tones and hues from band to band. Not a showy gem but a quality tourmaline in best tradition.
