Comment: Commonly African Demantoids are characterized as having more yellow than their Russian cousins. This is generally true, some Namibian Demantoids are even greenish yellow rather than yellowish green. This 1.48 however, from Madagascar, has exceptionally little, almost no yellow but glitters with an intense metallic green. The high dispersion shows itself in rainbow coloured lustre, as found also in diamonds. I managed to catch some of this effect in the close-up image. One and a half carat of colour and sparkle. Inclusions visible only under the lens, IGI certified, precision cut, untreated, no window, no flaws. Note the fine cutting visible in the side images.
