Comment: Sphene has seen a remarkable and well-earned rise in the jewelry world (amongst collectors they have always been of high interest) thanks to their irresistible luster and colorful dispersion. While mass production was never possible due to its rarity, capable goldsmiths have learned to create amazing pieces in sufficiently protective settings. Any gem, including diamond, suffers from rough handling in daily worn jewelry (with jade an exception). Many better known varieties like emerald, moonstones or opal need more protection and care. Pendants, earrings, brooches are the easiest way. In rings, a bezel does the trick. In prongs, handle with care like any valuable gem. That given, sphene (bright green-yellow) and titanite (deep orange-yellow) offer more color and luster than any gem but sphalerite. This 2.41 intense greenish yellow comes in 3Nos quality, no window, a rare 'free of inclusions' in sphene, untreated with bright luster and rainbow dispersion (orange, neon green, red sparks). Flawless handcut, almost square cushion, and a fine crystal (visible in vertical image with slight tilt to avoid luster). Near 8x8mm big enough for a pendant, or ring sizes between 4 and 7.
