Comment: Outstanding color-strength in tourmaline, rivaling any other green gem variety. In fact, at first sight it was thought to be tsavorite. I assume a high chrome content, either missed by AIGS or just below the necessary limit. Because of its outstanding quality, this 0.97 is also shown in our Emerald and Tsavorite section as an alternative to the higher price-range there. In any case, as the images transfer well and as seen i.p., here is a rare 'Excellent+' still under the price-pushing one-carat mark but with well over 6x5mm face-up worthy of 1.5 carat. Dense electric green, clean crystal, precision cut, no window, no inclusions, no treatments. Easily makes a center stone for a ring up to size 6, and deserving a halo for size 7/8. 'Excellent+' is never cheap but still a budget alternative compared to fine tsavorite or even finer emerald. In platinum, with a ring of 3-point diamonds it will outshine anything you could hope to find in ready-made jewelry.
