Overall Grade: Very Good

Comment: Seriously sized aquamarine with very little green in the (for untreated aquamarine) deep blue. 15x10mm face-up will fit only in the largest ring sizes over 8. Better as pendant IMO. As their name suggests, aquamarine appears liquid, lightweight, almost insubstantial, but of course they need space and such a 6 carat would look oversized in a small delicate ring. Free of inclusions. White needles visible on images but not lens, are not inclusions but light caught in grooves on the back surface. A symmetric window is due to large back facets, which are also responsible for the triangular shadows in some images. When set vertical however, as in handshot, the window and shadow disappear. The cut is flawless but for its unique orientation and large facets. Even color distribution and tone is best judged in sideview. Full-sized untreated aquamarine on sale for a cleverly set pendant.
