Comment: This ochre-colored Yowah opal is streaked by blue-green river- and lake-shapes visible on both sides. The pear shape is perfectly done, with 100% symmetry and polished surfaces on both sides, flat - not cabochon style. The closer one studies the gem, the more colorful details arise, as in the close-up shots: abstract landscapes and animal shapes in aquarelle, specks of gold glitter in the cork-like body surrounding the blue-green inlays of precious opal. In jewelry, such a gem need protection, ideally in a full bezel, and will best be set in pendant. Though one side displays more inlay than the other, both have their charm and I'd suggest a pendant that allows to show both sides under a rotatable loop. A calm character, for an opal that is, with a million beautiful details.
