Comment: Ivy green Jadeite Jade. Though the AIGS report measures 'oval', the eye says 'round'. Type A Jade Jadeite - the best untreated category from noble Burma stock. It is little known in the West that fine Jade is right on top of the global value charts, next to famous pink diamonds, emeralds, Burma rubies and the like. Venerated in China for millennia, the study of Jade is a world to itself, a lifelong personal quest for perfection and a history of wars, royal murder, intrigue and, yes, ruin. The latter driven by the lust of Asian traders to gamble on whole mine-outputs, huge rough boulders in the hope to strike it rich with THE piece of translucent imperial green, the one that drives wealthy Chinese collectors to pay millions of dollars for the best of the best. Our, humble but already magic, 10 carat deep green round and double-cabochon may be your entry. This pure ivy green hue with no grey, no inclusions, nor color zoning, and a dense crystal is smooth and remarkably cold to the touch (true jade cools unnaturally fast). Take note of the rich green in the handshot and compare with the slightly brighter, shiny tone under full daylight in the main images (see the not-changing tone in LGJ579 with less chromium). Jade, though not high on Moh's scale, is one of the toughest matters on earth and is seriously difficult to damage or mistreat even if you try. The myths and powers surrounding jade are legion and have filled books. Owning such a piece will grant you insight to a world of wonder and perhaps a life-long adoration.
