Comment: Bluish green Type A Burma Jadeite Jade, in a hue sometimes called 'sea-grass' or simply 'aqua' or 'myrtle'. In our handshot the color is paler than in person, but the lucid smooth crystal comes out well. Jade, even more than other gemstones, allows a photographer to squeeze any wished-for colors out of one and the same piece, so we do take great care and invest extra time to offer several realistic images, each one a representation of one aspect of hue and tone, crystal and body-texture. Chinese high-culture, with millennia of jade-history, has its own language to describe these colors, textures and crystals of these gems, and I dare not pretend to have grasped any of it, but would wish to. Perhaps somebody with Chinese Jade knowledge would swap lessons in ruby or sapphire grading against jade-lessons?
