Comment: Outstandingly shiny bright peridot in a sentimental heart shape, best shown in the main image. Usually, or often, heart-cuts are weak on brilliancy and produce more color-based gems. Not so here. Though not a precision cut, this 1.60 carat performs just like we would expect from a CAD cut and modern tools. While flawless to the eye, under the lens one can see that single facets and the cleft are hand crafted with old-style cutting machines back in Burma, not in the increasingly perfect but industrial lapidaries of Bangkok or China. Yet, the symmetric wide lobes and the perfectly mirrored wings allow full brilliancy from a maximum face-up over 7x7mm and make this gem the most extroverted heart in our inventory.
