Comment: Only Burma and some surrounding countries produce truly precious peridots (meteorites excluded). Their color and crystal can compete with the best gems in the green section. Unique in their color combination and immediately identifiable to the experienced collector, specimens of this size, cut and clarity can ruin a tourmaline- or a garnet-day with beauty at a modest budget. Imagine ten carats of perfect chrome tourmaline or tsavorite for half the price! Just for fun we added a handshot with almost full reflection, all indoors and on a rainy day. See also our side-image where the symmetry and proportions of its cut are visible in all harmony. Peridot is one of the few gems whose color is not caused by impurity but is part of the main chemical composition, here iron, hence peridot is a so-called 'idiochromatic gem' and has little potential for treatments. It is found in the deepest layers of our planet's crust but also on its surface, and most excitingly on meteorites racing through space. As such, peridot is a rather common mineral in our universe, like quartz, or diamond, but very few can be classified as gem-quality, especially in bigger sizes ('space-peridots' over one carat are a sensation). With over 17mm in length this gem is destined to become a pendant, bracelet, or a very daring gent's ring in XXL. We'll supply ideas for wearable jewelry, comfortable, secure, and head-turning for any occasion. No Chinese mass-products but hand-made, yours-only, one-of-a-kind jewelry to honor for generations to come.
