Overall Grade: Excellent

Comment: Dense pure green in a long oval tourmaline from Burma. No yellow, no brown or any other visible 2ndary hue. No inclusions even in almost five carats. Classic shape and deep cut. Will need a big ringsize or fill a pendant. Despite the sharp keel it does not suffer from the usual bow tie effect but is thouroghly colored in the center. No window. In the handshot it was the gem that turned the camera to balance light in its favor (not vice versa as so often), thus the skin tone almost faded into white. The images were shot in early daylight and not overexposed. From the side one clearly sees that the cutter chose the right table for an optimum color display (darkening to almost black in other directions). If set in a pendant, the gem will need a stable position so as not to flip over.
