Comment: White? Yes, jade is not only found in white but also highly appreciated, coming right after imperial green (though most white 'jade' you see, is white nephrite, a cousin of jadeite); and also many other colors such as purple, red or orange. This is Jadeite Jade Type A, attested by the AIGS report which comes for free, included in our prices, as is shipping and much more. Though shaped in double-cabochon, there is a flatter lower side and one higher upside. Describing this type of white is a challenge, it is not an organic ivory hue, nor the shiny pearl-white, but rather a snow- or cloud-white which would also match with its translucent character. The jade connoisseur knows that there are as many aspects to evaluating jade as there are opinions on food, and it takes a life-time to know half of what there is to know. Green and white (strictly not a color) are the most expensive 'colors' in jade with the very finest specimens competing in value with world-quality ruby, diamonds and emeralds. At $300/ct this is obviously not such a bank-killer, yet pure white with no 2ndary hue, which AIGS has confirmed, is on top of the color/value chart. Add more transparancy and the jade-ish otherworldly glow and the zeros start piling up in the price-tag. As most of our latest Burma jade, it's flawlessly crafted with no inclusions what-so-ever, smooth and silky, cool to the touch, without any color-zoning. A sophisticated choice for a pendant or a ring. Like all jade it is a tough matter and stands daily wear.
