Overall Grade: Very Good++

Comment: Alexandrite inviting a pendant setting. Pretty close to a 100% colour change (though that is impossible - let's say 90%.  See images, no digital tricks, just daylight and then tungsten and both in a mix, and torches where you can see it). The day-colour is a deep teal blue-green-green. At night, red and purple seeps in and accumulates to a deep reddish purple glow. Under low tungsten light (no torch) it looks like ruby. I usually do not like making photos of Alex (nobody does, they are a p.i.t.a.) but this here was great fun. Note that once I fixed him upright on glue and it looked like a high-temp flame from a Bunsen-Burner. Funny that though the eye at times sees nothing but squeaking green, the camera still captures a few red flashes (as in main image).  Even the DSEF report has captured the color change bravely! Inclusions are visible only under the lens. As all our gems, it comes with a full third party lab report and a certificate over 1000 square-meter of rainforest bought in your name. This gem was precision cut in Germany and is flawless in dimensions, depth and shape. No window whatsoever. Two thirds of a carat of the most expensive material on earth.
