Comment: Close to pure orange hessonite with just a touch of cinnamon. Never dark. Always with a gleam of red gold (see night-shot under 'more images'). Check close-up showing the famed liquid crystal found only in this type of garnet, reminding of lava, golden honey or tree-sap, any thick and slow-moving liquid. While, of course, without actual movement, it seems that the gem was cut from a fluid matter and then frozen in place and time. The liquid crystal is immediately evident under the lens, but the experienced collector can ID hessonite without lens by its shimmering luster that is distinctly different from any other gem. Size suitable for pendant or ring. At $650/ct far from expensive for all the fun to be had with this pretty gem, untreated, no window, no visible inclusions, precision cut, and with all WildFish extras.
