Overall Grade: Very Good

Comment: Brilliant round Rhodolite in darkest rose red. Ancient but well done cut to maximise upwards visible size ('face') with 8mm+ and down to only 54% depth but still without window. At Medium Dark 80 not a flashy pinkish sparkler but a dark red glower with red sparks. Big enough for a pendant or to fill even a size 10 ring, preferably in a bezel setting and a closed back to cover the tilt-window (see handshot) which is unavoidable in this cut but not too bad because of the very dark tone. IGI certified Rhodolite, no visible inclusions, no treatments, original paperwork comes with free home delivery, and a 1000sqm of rainforest conserved for your grandkids - all for under 1k. Hand-selected few from a stock of thousands of old Ceylon gems. BTW, somebody asked: 'old' doesn't mean anything in gems. They are, by nature, millions of years old. The only thing that may matter here is a bad cut or unloving storage which scratches the surface (has not happened here).
