Comment: Massive four+ carat blue spinel with an even bigger face up, 11x10mm, no window, no treatment, no inclusions (hard to find one bubble under the lens). Classic spinel color without the so-called bleeding into purple, and little gray. 3NOs quality. Good luster in motion (as visible in handshots). Not a bright northern sky-blue, obviously, but the deepest ocean blue, or if you are lucky to have witnessed a clear, smog-free tropical sky just before nightfall. In former times, called Ultramarine, the color made from lapis. Some may consider this oval, some say cushion, judge yourself, shape doesn't lie. In a ladies ring not under size 8, and will accomodate any gent's size. Also, easy pendant size. Spinels of all hues have appreciated rapidly over the last decade, now reaching where sapphire was ten years ago, and ruby five years.
